Food FactsWe grow a large variety of leafy greens on our farm. The health benefits of leafy greens have been well documented by numerous studies. Many types of leafy plants, such as chards, kale, collards, and cabbages, are rich in beta carotene, vitamin C, and other substances that protect against cancer. They contain fiber and various minerals (especially iron and calcium— ounce for ounce about as much calcium as whole milk in some cases). The richest source of vitamin C among the leafy greens is kale. Wrap unwashed greens in damp paper towels, then place in plastic bag to keep for several days.

Organic Methods |
Organic farming is a form of agriculture that relies on crop rotation, green manure, compost, biological pest control, and mechanical cultivation to maintain soil productivity and control pests, excluding or strictly limiting the use of synthetic fertilizers and synthetic pesticides, plant growth regulators, livestock feed additives, and genetically modified organisms.
With the help of the USDA, our goal is to expand our certification in the future to include more and more of the land we farm for food. We are very proud of our organically grown local produce and we know you will enjoy the quality and taste! |
